Kasese Receives new CAO

Kasese District Local Government received a new CAO Mr. Aggrey Winston Muramira on 29th Jan 2019 and bid farewell to the outgoing CAO Mr. Turyahebwa K Hanny on the same day.

 Mr. Aggrey Winston was received by the RDC, the District chairperson, members of the district council, and the technical staff amidst the company of his wife and friends and was handed over office by the outgoing CAO during the handover ceremony that took place in the District health board room.


While delivering his speech at the handover, Mr Aggrey promised to selflessly serve the people of Kasese and support each staff who will be willing and committed to developing in career. In his words he said, “I will begin from where  my brother stopped to ensure that I transform Kasese to another level and I want to see the kind of staff that keep on growing, those who want to move together, let us move “. He confidently assured the team that he is willing to work with them to face the challenges that will come his way in the struggle of delivering services to the people of Kasese. He said, “If challenges were not there, there would be no need for us to be in service, challenges will always be there but you look for solutions that will bring everyone on board “. Mr. Aggrey emphasized the issue of working for the people and refuting any pressure that may arise with selfish interests.

The outgoing CAO Turyahebwa Hanny was transferred to Ntungamo District Local Government. For the  1 ½ yrs he served with KDLG he was celebrated with a majestic farewell party attended by the several District stake holders including the RDCs, the District Chairperson, members of the council, development partners, among others.

In his handover speech he appreciated the staff for being peaceful and committed at providing quality services to the community. He mentioned the key achievements he has contributed to during his term of office focusing on the key service delivery sectors like works, production, tourism, education and health, the challenges and the current status of the district which were all captured in the report he handed over to the incoming CAO.

The RDC called upon the incoming CAO to take the safe custody of office documents as a priority and pledged his full support to him. He argued him not to respond to any pressure from anyone with personal interest. The RDC thanked the outgoing CAO for being hard working and for all the remarkable contributions he has made towards achieving a sustainable social economic Development.

Staff represented by the PHRO Mr. Bihanikire Samson, appreciated the period they have worked with him and for being like a father to many, for his commitment and dedication to work. He also promised continuous cooperation to the new CAO to enhance service delivery.

Kasese District Local Government has a vision to have a poverty free society by 2025 and a mission to achieve a sustainable socio economic development through efficient provision of quality services to the people in conformity with national and local priorities and the outgoing CAO Mr. Turyahebwa Hanny will always be appreciated for contributing to this cause.
