Maliba Sub-County was formed in 1978. We are one of the Mountainous Sub-Counties in Kasese District. We have have 7 parishes ( Bikone, Buhunga, Isule, Katebe, Kisanga, Nyabisusi and Nyangorongo) and 48 villages with an estimated population of 47,357 people according to the 2014 Population and Housing Census.
The majority of the people in the Sub-County depend on subsistence farming using rudimentary tools. The Sub-County covers an estimated land area of 132Km² which is approximately 10532Ha.
Location.
We are located in Busongora North Constituency , 20km North of Kasese Municipality and our headquarter is at Maliba Trading Centre 8km from Mubuku Town Council. The Major road leading to the Sub-County Headquarters branches off at Mubuku Town Council on the Fort Portal-Kasese Road to right.
